| Potential ELL
(English Language Learners) or Literacy
/ABE

improve their reading and writing

Adult
One-on-One Tutoring
Volunteers are recruited and trained to
tutor adult learners who seek help to
improve their basic reading, writing,
thinking, and math skills, and/or to
learn the English language. Most tutors
meet with their students twice a week,
and work together for about 1 hour.
Each match decides where and when he or
she will meet. The Literacy
Green Bay office supplies tutoring
materials.

"Working one-on-one with a
student is a joy! Not only is it easy to determine the
learner's language needs but also to get to know more
about the person."

"My student is a
real inspiration to me...always wanting to learn
more and better ways to express herself. She is
so very eager to learn the correct pronunciation
and meaning of new words. We have been working
together for four years and have become good
friends.
