Volunteer Child Tutors
make a difference!
Help a child
succeed in school by becoming a child tutor at Literacy Green Bay.
Tutors meet with the children of the
adults in our English Language Learner
classes at supervised
sites. They help the children,
kindergarten to 5th grade, strengthen
their ability to read and write.

Child Tutor qualifications and
training
Volunteer
Child Tutors attend a two-hour
training workshop
and are then assigned to help a
particular child or to help at a
particular site and work with
children who come that day.
Tutoring takes place during
after-school hours throughout the
school year.
Child Tutor
Training Workshops are scheduled
in September, January and late May.
Additional workshops are
scheduled at various times.
Practical insights, hands-on
suggestions for building
confident and competent readers,
and techniques for motivating
success are discussed. |
