Equipped for the Future

Literacy Green Bay is raising $189,000 to renovate
the classrooms and computer lab.
We invite you to get involved and help us reach our goal!

  • More than 36 million American adults struggle to read, write, do math, and use technology above a third grade reading level. Communities feel these effects. Each year, American employers spend over $125.9 BILLION dollars on training and remediation of their workforce.

The Need for Literacy Programs

  • This problem is compounded by the fact that there are not enough local programs, or often long wait lists to enter literacy, English language, or GED programs.

  • Children of parents with low literacy skills have a 72 percent chance of reading below grade level. These children are more likely to get poor grades, display behavioral problems or drop out of school
